Eligibility: Candidates should have a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a corporate travel manager supported by extensive agency operational experience, and/or relevant international experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Extensive experience in Corporate Travel Agency operations
  • Extensive knowledge of travel service delivery in the multiple countries (i.e. travel agencies, airlines, hotels, emerging technologies)
  • Strong inter-personal skills, ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various
  • cultural backgrounds
  • Strong command of English, including good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to deal sensitively in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relationships with customers and colleagues within a matrix management environment
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to manage internal expectations diplomatically
  • Solid understanding of agency reporting capabilities, with strong analytical skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, balancing tactical day to day issues, with longer term strategic initiatives
  • In-depth understanding of travel agency pricing and financials

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assume primary responsibility for the regional agency consolidation, ensuring that the transition to a new supplier is smooth
  • Manage travel agency relationship(s) in the cluster of countries on an ongoing basis, including conducting Account Reviews to ensure corresponding PWS’s and defined SLA’s are being met
  • Act as key liaison between the travel agency and Bank staff on all service inquiries
  • Oversee audit of air fares charged by travel contractors
  • Ensure adherence to policy, including interpretation and enforcement of the policy

Lead and Innovate

  • Support the Technology Travel Specialist at HQ with the introduction of travel technology enhancements
  • Support the Airline Travel Specialist at HQ in securing any supplemental local airline contracts to complement the preferred Global Airline providers
  • Support the Hotel Travel Analyst at HQ with the Global Hotel RFP by identifying the properties that should be included in the annual solicitation

Collaborate with teams across boundaries

  • Monitor travel supplier contract obligations to ensure these are adhered to, including travel supplier billing
  • Respond to customer feedback, managing opportunities for improvement or adjustment
  • Support the Finance team with the implementation of a corporate card for payment of airline tickets and agency services

Create, apply and share knowledge

  • Develop and maintain a relationship and communication strategy with the key WBG stakeholders in the region, keeping them abreast of critical components of the program
  • Monitor compliance with preferred airline program, reporting on LLF and lost savings
  • Ensure that the Bank specific quality control processes are in place and
  • supporting WBG requirements. Coach/inform agency staff on WBG travel policy and supplier contracts.
  • Report on defined KPI’s, tracking service levels, customer satisfaction and savings
  • Distribute data, as required, to assist country office management in identifying costs, savings opportunities, trends and behaviors
